On Saturday, the Novice A Eagles
treated us to an encore performance of their 2-0 win from last weekend, this
time winning 7-0.
Hosting the Caledon Hawks once again, in what was considered a do or die game for both teams, the Eagles came out strong taking away any open ice the Hawks might have had. Mid way through the first Gavin was able to convert a pass in front of the net to open the scoring. In the second period it was much the same as the pursuit of the puck was fantastic by the Eagles creating turnovers after turnover. Kai widened the gap to two goals with a near side top corner shot from a sharp angle. In the third period the Eagles didn’t let up scoring 5 more goals by Grady (3), T.J., and Jacob. Similar to last week everyone one on the team did their part. The goalies kept the puck out of the net, the defense blocked shots and cleared the zone, and the forwards pressured the puck which led to scoring opportunities. The Eagles will host the Woolwich Wildcats on Wednesday in the third of four elimination games for the Eagles.
