Dear Eagles Families:

I hope everyone is managing through this difficult period and doing what is necessary to stay healthy.  I know that everyone is looking forward to a return to normalcy. For most of us that includes hockey and our community that surrounds it.

Hockey Canada, the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation), and the OMHA will continue to provide information / decisions regarding the 2020 / 2021 hockey season and tryouts.

As any new information becomes available, we will pass it on as soon as possible.

To our Burlington Eagles Families,

The past few weeks have been a very busy and confusing time with the ongoing Pandemic.

On March 12th , 2020 Hockey Canada and their partners cancelled the remainder of the hockey season and all sanctioned hockey activities.

Then on March 16th, 2020 the OHF cancelled tryouts for all clubs and teams that were to start April 13th , 2020.

This a very fluid and evolving situation and as such the Burlington Eagles as a member of the OMHA is in constant contact with the OMHA and will keep you posted as the situation develops and changes.  Read More

The OHF and its member partners have issued the following statement regarding tryouts for the 2020/21 season:

"The health and safety of all participants in the sport is of the utmost importance to the OHF and its member partners. As such, tryouts for the 2020-21 season will not be conducted this Spring. Instead the OHF will provide guidance on when the introduction of the 2020-21 season will begin, subject to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors’ future decision when to reinstate all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities.  Such introduction will take into consideration ice availability, capacity and other logistics involved in organizing hockey programs." Following the announcement by Hockey Canada and the OMHA to suspend all hockey activities until further notice, the Burlington Eagles have also decided to postpone our sponsor and volunteer gala temporarily. The health and safety of everyone is our biggest priority, and this decision has been made by the Eagles executive and staff with the public's health in mind.

We will notify all Eagles parties involved with the gala when further decisions are made.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association’s foremost priority is the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and hockey families. We have been proactively working alongside Health Canada, Hockey Canada and local public health officials in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In light of recent events, the OMHA Officers have made the decision to immediately suspend all hockey activities. We will be proactive in informing our constituents on all upcoming protocols and required actions as they become available.
