Peewee AAA - PVS Contractors Peewee AAA Win Championship at Kitchener Blueline
Submitted By Rob Holden on Sunday, November 12, 2017
The PVS Contractors Peewee AAA team went into the Kitchener Blueline tournament on a high after learning a few weeks earlier they had been invited to the Quebec Peewee tournament. The team started off very strong and and went 4-0 in the round robin out scoring their opponents 27-1.

In the 7am semi-finals on Sunday they met a very defensive and disciplined Brantford 99ers. It was a tight close checking game with both teams scoring twice and ending in a tie at the end of regulation.  The 2 teams played 9 and half minutes of very exciting and stressful 3 on 3 exchanging many scoring chances and each team taking a penalty. With 43.1 seconds left the Eagles scored to break the tie and move on to the finals.

In the finals the boys met up against Grey Bruce. Grey Bruce has been an ever improving team since entering the AAA loop in minor atom. The boys had played Grey Bruce at least 12 times over the years and have never lost to them so the pressure was on the Eagles being the favorites.

The game was very close and tight checking but the Eagles managed to have a 2-1 lead late in the game. With time running out Grey Bruce pulled their goalie but the Eagles potted an empty net goal to seal the win.

Goalies ALEXANDER REBANE and VLAD VISAN were fantastic all weekend posting an incredible GAA of 0.666 over 6 games.

Congratulations to all of the players and the coaching staff Kevin, Michael, Alex, Dean and Paul on a great victory.
