The Burlington Eagles organization would like to extend our
congratulations to the Under 9 Tier 1 team for winning the Oakville Showdown in
O-Town earlier this month! In six games the Eagles went 5-1 and outscored their
opponents 34-12.
On the first day of the tournament the Eagles faced off
against league opponents Guelph Gryphons (7-1 win) and against the only team to
win four games from four in the round robin the Ottawa Sting (5-1 loss). The
Eagles would then rebound with a dominating Saturday, defeating the Flamborough
Sabres 7-4 and the Barrie Colts 13-0 to earn a semi-final berth.
Playing the Goulding Park Rangers in the semis, the Eagles won
a tight game to end up facing the hosts Oakville Rangers in the championship
game. A 4-3 victory was enough for the Eagles to win the game and finish the
weekend as the champions of the Showdown in O-Town!
