Junior Eagles: The Gift of Giving Back
The Junior Eagles are happy to contribute to The Gift of Giving Back this hockey season. Parents, please have a look at the details for what we have planned.
The Gift of Giving Back Date: Sunday November 4th
Location: Outside Food Basics- 3365 Fairview St, Burlington, ON L7N 3N9
Founded in Burlington, Ontario in 2005 and originally launched by the Eagles, the Gift of Giving Back is now the largest food drive of its kind in Canada that supports, educates and empowers thousands of young hockey athletes, baseball athletes and high school students to compassionately give back to their community.
These efforts include the participation of all our Eagles Hockey players from every age group and division as well as other organizations in the community who have chosen to join in.
This is truly an amazing way to help our players get involved with helping others in our Community and showing them that together we CAN change lives!

On Sunday November 4th each Junior Eagle’s Team has been given a 1-hour timeslot where they will be responsible for canvassing the Food Basics and LCBO Store on Fairview to collect food and monetary donations for this cause. (Team schedules listed below).
These donations will be collected, counted and weighed on the evening of the team photos. (Tuesday November 6th) Next week you will receive a few “Blue Bags”. Blue Bags will be handed out and taken home with you. You may ask family, friends and neighbours to contribute to this cause by adding donations of non-perishable food items to them. Simply bring your blue bags with you to your assigned photograph evening where they can be dropped off and accounted for.
I will be asking for 3 Parent Volunteers per team to stay with the kids during their 1-hour time slot. You will be responsible for holding onto some of the food/money donations until they are handed in on Photo night. **Please email me if you would be interested in assisting with this event**
