CALLING ALL EAGLE VOLUNTEERS!!!
Spring Gala Committee Meeting – Wednesday, January 24th , 7:00 pm

The 2017-18 hockey season is quickly nearing completion and as in past years, the Burlington City Rep Hockey Club Eagles will be hosting our annual “Volunteer and Sponsor Appreciation Spring Gala”.

This exciting event will take place April 7th, 2018.

This special evening is organized annually to salute and thank our valuable volunteers who selflessly contribute untold time, talent, energy and leadership to the youth of our community.

As a not-for-profit organization, the Burlington City Rep Hockey Club works diligently to offer quality on and off-ice programs, while striving to keep costs to families as affordable as possible. We simply could not do it without our volunteers helping out in a multitude of tasks.

DID YOU KNOW? That the Burlington City Rep Hockey Club is comprised of all volunteers except for the positions of Office Administrator, Ice Scheduler, Referee Scheduler, Timekeeping Scheduler and Coach/Goalie Technical mentorships?

All Executive positions are volunteers; all coaches and team staff are volunteers; all Gift of Giving Back Community Food Drive are volunteers,  all Spirit Committee are volunteers; all Spring Gala and Food Drive/Picture Day staff are volunteers.  I could go on and on, but you get the picture!

Thousands of volunteer hours go into running the BCRHC. Did you ever wonder if we had to pay for these hours to run our hockey club – even at minimum wage -- how much hockey registration would cost?  Many of us could not afford to have our kids play rep hockey where they benefit from learning so many valuable life lessons!

Our volunteers coaches, trainers, managers, parent representatives, convenors, administrators, and many others are the sustaining backbone of our programs and success. They not only provide appropriate role models but their efforts, energy and generosity help to improve the quality of life of the minor hockey players they work with and their families, and also make a vital contribution to the needs of the community and its citizens.

Naturally, an evening such as this requires a team of enthusiastic volunteers!!  We look forward to welcoming back our team of dedicated assistants again!!

There will be significant exciting changes to our event program this year – stay tuned to hear more!

If you have never volunteered with our organization or this committee before  -- We invite you to join with a wonderful group of Eagle volunteers in a great (and really fun) opportunity to get involved. You would be really welcome !

Lots of different tasks are available.

Please email Angela Mahoney at [email protected] or me, Jean Longfield, at [email protected] or attend our meeting, Wednesday, January 24th  at 7:00 pm.   Meetings are one hour.

 See you there.
