The
Tech4Kids Minor Peewee A team were awarded the Tri County Minor Peewee
Smith Championship in front of a packed house at Central Arena
on Sunday March 21st, defeating the Owen Sound Jr. Attack by a score of 3-2.
Not rattled by losing their first two games of the championship series,
the boys demonstrated determination to rally back and win the next
three games to capture the Championship title.
The Minor Peewee A team is to be congratulated on an amazing season! Winning an OMHA title in 2013, the boys advanced from AE to A this season and took their competition by storm, finishing first in their division in regular season play and in OMHA preliminary play downs, only to fall short by a margin in OMHA quarter final play. In tournament play, the boys were just as successful. In their first early bird tournament as an A team they came in third place and continued to soar in tournament play from there. In November, they achieved the Amherstburg Elite Invitational Championship title. Finally, in December, the team won another championship title at the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament in Oakville. With an overall season record of 37-10-4, these boys rose to the challenge of playing a level up and proved that they could compete.
The coaching staff and on-ice parent volunteers are to be commended for their time and effort this season and in the development of this team. The medals and awards will serve as a reminder of their collective accomplishments, but the experiences that they shared and the friendships that they have made will be cherished for a lifetime.
