U.S. HOCKEY TOURNAMENTS
Submitted By Admin on Tuesday, May 16, 2017
The Burlington Eagles know that it is a big commitment to play Rep Hockey.  We are conscious of the time and money spent by families each year to give our players an amazing experience and to develop them into great athletes and people.

Understanding this commitment, We are strongly discouraging our Coaches from registering for tournaments based in the US. The cost not only of the tournament registration but also the additional costs for travel and lodging by choosing to going to a US based tournament can put an additional financial burden on our hockey families. There are many great tournaments available in Canada and specifically within Ontario for which the coaching staff can choose from and we are providing them a list to ensure the best tournaments are chosen.

We have looked into US based tournaments already and found the costs ranging from $1450 to $1850USD. At the current exchange rate, that is the equivalent of $2000-$2500 which could is $500-600 per game. We are strongly discourage any team from registering for a US tournament.

We have also put in place a process for coaches to follow should your coach still feel they want to register for a US tournament:

1 - Each family on the team to confirm to parent rep they are on-side with the US tournament (E-Mail tracking)

2 - Coach and manager to submit their proposal to their division convener

3 - The division conveners will bring forth the proposal to the board for review.

Go Eagles!
