Two Olympic medallists, an LPGA tour
winner, a 500-game NHLer and a top masters squash player are the newest members
of the Burlington Sports Hall of Fame.
The hall committee announced the selections yesterday. Becky Kellar, our own Burlington Eagles Coach & Mentor was among the five inductees.
Kellar, a mainstay on the Canadian women’s hockey team for more than a decade, is a three-time Olympic gold medalist with three more wins at the world championships. Since she retired, she has been a tireless worker as a coach and instructor in Burlington.
The five selections will be inducted at ceremonies to be held at the Burlington Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, May 30 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are available by contacting Ron Lambert at [email protected] or 289-962-1254. Cost is $50 a ticket with a cash bar.
