March 29, 2026 - Whitby, ON
In
a weekend defined by speed, strength, and unwavering resolve, the Burlington
Eagles U18AA team etched their names into club history, capturing the OMHA
Championship in dramatic fashion Sunday afternoon in Whitby.
Facing an elite field in which all eight
competing teams ranked among the province’s top ten, the Eagles proved they
belonged at the very top. Burlington navigated a demanding round-robin schedule
with poise, finishing 1-0-2 to secure first place in their pool after three
fast, physical contests that set the tone for the weekend.
Sunday’s semifinal saw the Eagles square
off against Peterborough in a tightly contested, hard-checking affair.
Burlington’s discipline and defensive structure prevailed, earning a 3-1
victory and a coveted berth in the championship game against host Whitby.
What followed was a fitting conclusion to a
tournament of the highest caliber.
In front of a packed arena filled with
passionate Whitby supporters — and a strong, vocal contingent of Eagles
families and fans — the championship game delivered on every level. The teams
traded chances through three intense, physical periods, deadlocked at 2-2 as
regulation time expired.
Overtime was decided just four minutes in,
as Burlington buried a beautiful goal to silence the home crowd and seal the
OMHA title.

While the victory in Whitby stands as the
crowning achievement, it is but one chapter in what has been a truly remarkable
season — one that carries both historic weight and a sense of nostalgia.
In an era where elite teams often draw from
far beyond their local communities, this Burlington squad stands apart.
Composed entirely of Burlington residents who have worn the Eagles crest for
years — the team represents a rare and enduring continuity, a group that grew
together and, ultimately, continues to succeed together.
Their season has been nothing short of
extraordinary.
The Eagles went undefeated in regular
season play, posting a dominant 25-0-1 record. Across all competitions, they
have amassed an astonishing 56 wins against just 5 losses and 5 ties — placing
them among the winningest teams in the proud history of the Burlington Eagles
club.
And the story is not finished.
The Burlington Eagles U18AA season now
turns toward its next challenge: the OHF Championships in Kitchener in three
weeks’ time. With momentum firmly on their side, the Eagles will set their
sights on another milestone — chasing their 60th win of the season and an OHF
championship to further cement what is already one of the most remarkable
campaigns in club history.
For a team that has already achieved so
much, the final chapter is still waiting to be written.
