The
Burlington Eagles U12A capped off a remarkable season by capturing the
Tri-County Championship in a thrilling two-game series against the Oakville
Rangers. It was a hard-earned victory that reflected months of dedication,
resilience, and unwavering commitment from the entire team.
The series
opened in Oakville, where the Eagles battled through a tightly contested game
to secure a 3–2 win. Every shift was a test of determination, as both teams
pushed the pace, but Burlington found a way to come out on top when it mattered
most.
Back
on home ice at Appleby, the Eagles delivered another gritty performance, edging
out the Rangers 2–1 to clinch the championship and bring home the banner. The
final buzzer marked not just the end of the game, but the culmination of a
season defined by perseverance.
Behind
the bench, coaches Frankie Coccia, Mike Dunk, Peter Bailey, and Travis Wheeldon
guided the team through the highs and lows of the season. From early 6 a.m.
practices to moments of heartbreak and tough losses, the Eagles never lost
focus. Their commitment to improvement and belief in one another ultimately
paid off in the biggest way.
This
championship run wasn’t just about wins—it was about the journey. The hard
work, the sacrifices, and the resilience shown by these young athletes set the
foundation for a season they—and their supporters—will never forget.
