Two of our teams, U18AA and U16AA, both won their early bird tournaments this past weekend, both going undefeated all weekend.
U18AA
This past weekend our U18 AA team competed in the Newmarket Renegades Early Bird Tournament, going 4-0 in round-robin play with wins over the South Simcoe Storm, Barrie Colts, Newmarket Renegades, and King Rebellion, outscoring opponents 19–4. In the semi-finals, they faced Newmarket again and earned a 5–1 win to advance to the finals against the Peterborough Petes. The Eagles sealed the championship with a 5–2 victory, bringing home some hardware to kick off the season. Well done, team!
U16AA
The Burlington Eagles u16 AA competed in the Newmarket Renegades Early Bird Start Up tournament over the weekend. The team had an outstanding weekend on the ice going undefeated at 6 and 0 outscoring their opponents 27 to 6 to take home the championship cup! Liam Marcil was the tournament MVP in net but it was a total team effort. It was great to see the players bond and overcome some adversity to grow as a team over the 3 days!
