ANNOUNCEMENT DETAILS
- On
December 14th, 2024, the Ontario Hockey Federation (the governing
body of all sanctioned hockey in Ontario) confirmed changes to the regulations
that govern representative hockey player movement.
- Beginning
next season (2025-26), players aged U10 and older will be able to attend
tryouts and play for any team in Ontario without the need for a waiver and
regardless of their residence address.
- Players
at the U7 – U9 MD levels of hockey will need to continue to participate within
their members programming within the OMHA Home Center.
- The
primary reason for this change is to provide the Player and Families an
opportunity to explore available options and to then decide where they want to
commit to playing.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR THE BURLINGTON EAGLES?
The Burlington City Rep Hockey Club will be a destination for
top talent across all age levels with a goal to put championship teams on
the ice while offering a best-in-class minor hockey experience.

be the new reality. The Burlington Eagles will embrace this change and adapt to
continue to build one of the finest clubs in Ontario together.
- Each age
group and level within the club will be evaluated accordingly and parameters
will be in place to meet the competitive needs of
the club on a team-by-team basis.
- Striving to retain our talented
Burlington Eagles players at all ages and levels will be a top priority.
- Attracting impact players at the AAA
level and the ability to build the most competitive teams by adding the
necessary number of those players from outside the club will be another top
priority.
We will continue to enhance our best-in-class
programming with top coaches, skills development team, and off-ice fitness
to develop players to play at the highest levels.
- Leverage the knowledge and
experience our Director of Development, Coaches, and Development Team who will support
pathways to Junior and Collegiate Hockey.
- Grow our partnership with the
