It was an exciting weekend for Eagles as our U18, U15A Gold and U13A Gold won their respective Silver Stick Tournament and now qualify for the Silver Stick Finals to be held in January!
U18A Burlington Eagles Soar to Victory at Pelham Silver
Stick Tournament!
Our Eagles started strong in the round-robin, edging out the
Welland Tigers with a tight 2-1 victory. A setback came in game 2, where they
fell 0-2 to the South Oxford Storm. However, they rebounded quickly with a
decisive 3-1 win over the Woodstock Navy Vets, securing their place in the
semi-finals. A solid team effort earned them another 3-1 win over
the Brantford 99ers, setting up a championship showdown against the Stittsville
Rams. The boys saved their best for last, dominating the finals with
an explosive 6-1 victory over the Rams, punching their ticket to the Silver
Sticking Internationals January 17-19th. Congrats to our U18A Eagles
on bringing home the banner!
U15A Gold Burlington Eagles Win Gold in Pelham Silver
Stick!
The U15AG team had a near perfect 2-0-1 record in the round
robin with a very untimely overturned goal leaving us with a tie against
Welland. The boys battled through and earned the top seed into the semis
where it took double overtime against a very strong Norfolk Knights team
to determine a winner in sudden death with just 3.6 seconds remaining.
The championship game was set against the Welland Tigers and
a chance for redemption, it was a hard-fought battle for both teams and a very
exciting game that had to be decided in a shootout. Our boys went 3/3 in the shootout,
and it took but one save to secure the gold medal and punch our ticket to
Port Huron in January. Championships don't come easy they say, it was a grind
to the end this weekend.
U13A Gold Go Undefeated in Pelham Silver Stick!
Our U13A Gold Burlington Eagles fought hard to secure a 2-1
victory in double overtime during this weekend’s regional qualifier of the
International Silver Stick in Pelham, Ontario. The team showcased an
outstanding performance, going an impressive 5-0 without conceding a single
goal until the final.
Congratulations to the U13A Gold Burlington Eagles for
bringing home the tournament victory! This achievement has earned the team a
spot in the prestigious International Silver Stick tournament, which will be
held in Port Huron, Michigan, in the New Year. Well done, Eagles!
