This past weekend, two Eagles teams won their tournament!
The U10 A team was victorious in St. Catharines in the Garden City Early Bird,
and the U15 AA won the Newmarket Renegades Early Bird. Both teams were undefeated!
The U10 A team travelled to St. Catharines to play in a
9-team early bird tournament. Beating Glancaster (9-4) and Welland (9-1) on the
Friday, the Eagles then followed up on Saturday with a tie against Orillia (5-5)
and a win against Garden City (3-2), pushing them into the semi-finals. Coming
up against a South Oxford Storm team that had won all four of their round robin
games by a combined score of 45-5, the Eagles were able to knock off the top
seed with a 4-3 win!
In the finals the Eagles played against Whitby who had won
all five of their games up to that point, until Burlington knocked them off
with a resounding 6-1 score to win the tournament. Congratulations to all of
the players, coaching staff, and the parents for their hard work last weekend!

The U15 AA team went to Newmarket to compete in the
Renegades Early Bird tournament in a 10-team tournament. Going undefeated in
all four of their round robin games against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds (3-2),
Ajax-Pickering Raiders (7-0), Whitby Wildcats (2-2), and the Duffield Devils
(7-0) put the Eagles as the top seed entering the semi-finals. A game against
the host Newmarket Renegades ended in a 4-1 Eagles win, and a rematch against Whitby
in the championship.
In the second game against Whitby, the Eagles
came out with a 4-3 to win the tournament! Congratulations to the players,
coaches, and parents on a great weekend and an incredible start to the season.
