We know there have
been many questions and concerns around what next year's hockey programming is
going to look like and we appreciate your patience while we have worked with
our governing bodies.
Today, we are excited to announce that there will be tiered
teams next year at the U8 and U9 age groups that will compete in a formal,
competitive league made up of Burlington, Milton, Oakville, and Flamborough
(more associations may be added). In addition, these teams will have the
opportunity to compete in 3 scheduled Jamborees and a number of exhibition
games with OMHA, Alliance, MHL and GTHL teams. Here are the highlights:
- Tiered teams based on
both ability and interest. Those that want a more competitive, advanced,
intensive program will have that option. Those that want a game and a
practice a week will have that option.
- A tiered league with up
to 40 games.
- Exhibition games vs.
OMHA, Alliance, MHL and GTHL teams.
- Up to 3 Jamboree
weekends.
- Enhanced development
opportunities with professional, experienced hockey instructors.
- OMHA, OHF and Hockey
Canada certified league vs. the challenges of private options.
Final details, costs and registration timing will be
released shortly.
For now, what you need to know is, we have heard
what you want and we will deliver. Quite simply, there will be no better U8 and
U9 programming available anywhere and there will be something for everyone from
advanced to recreational.
