THREE EAGLES TEAMS VICTORIOUS IN TOURNAMENTS THIS WEEKEND!
The Burlington Eagles had an extremely successful weekend with three teams winning their tournaments: U18 AAA in Ottawa, U18 A in Bradford, and U13 A Gold in St. Catherines.

UNDER 18 AAA

The U18 AAA team went up to Ottawa to play in the 17th Annual Ottawa Senators Showcase Tournament, where they went undefeated in seven games to take home the trophy! After winning all four round robin games with a combined 22 goals for and only two against, they came up against Oakville in the quarter-final game in their third game on Saturday. After defeating Oakville 5-2, they came up against the Vaughan Kings in the semi-finals winning that game 4-3. In the finals, the Eagles came up against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens whom they beat 5-3 en route to the championship! A great effort from start to finish, and congratulations to the U18 AAA team and all the players and staff!

UNDER 18 A

Our U18 A team was in the Bradford Blue & Gold tournament this weekend and came away with a 5-1 record and the championship on Sunday! After defeating the Lindsay Muskies in the opening game, the Eagles lost their first round robin matchup against the Markham Waxers 4-2. Winning their next two games against Mississippi Saturday afternoon and Richmond Hill on Sunday meant the Eagles finished 2nd and had a rematch against Markham in the finals. With a resounding 5-2 victory the U18 A Eagles won the Bradford Blue & Gold tournament! Congratulations again to the players and coaching staff on a successful weekend.

UNDER 13 A GOLD

Last but not least, our U13 A Gold team went to St. Catherines to play in the Early Bird tournament. Losing their opening game against Collingwood was the only blemish on their record all weekend, as they then won their next three games in the round robin against LPC 3-2, against Pelham 4-3, and against Aurora 5-0. Solidifying their spot in the semi-finals, the Eagles then came up against a league opponent in the Halton Hill Thunder. Finishing the regulation period 0-0, the Eagles then scored 10 seconds in overtime to win the game 1-0! Coming back up against LPC in the championship, the Eagles got out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back, winning the championship with a score of 4-0. Congratulations to our U13 A Gold players and coaching staff on the fantastic weekend!
