U18 AA & U14 AA GOLD VICTORIOUS IN TOURNAMENTS, News (Burlington City Rep Hockey Club)

Congratulations to our Under 18 AA team, as well as the U14 AA Gold team for winning their tournaments this weekend! The U18 AA Eagles went to Halton Hills to compete in the Best of the Best, and went and undefeated 5-0-1 on their way to the championship. The U14 AA Gold Eagles were in Georgina for a Silver Stick Qualifier, and went undefeated as well with a record of 5-0-1 to win their Regional Qualifier.

The U18 AA team went to Halton and tied their first game against Waterloo 1-1, before winning their next three games in round robin play to advance to the semi-finals. Coming up against the hosts Halton Hills Thunder, the Eagles posted a 2-0 shutout to advance to the finals to meet the only other undefeated team in the tournament, the Markham Waxers. With a strong showing, the Eagles posted yet another shutout defeating Markham 4-0 to win the Halton Hills Best of the Best tournament in convincing fashion, outscoring all of their opponents 18-2!


The U14 AA Gold team went to Georgina to compete in the Silver Stick Regional Qualifier, and had an identical record of 5-0-1. Winning their first three games, they finished the round robin with a tie against the Vaughan Rangers. Moving on to the semi-finals against the Whitby Wildcats, the Eagles won a hard-fought battle 2-1 by scoring in the second period of overtime! Going back up against the Vaughan Rangers, the Eagles scored early in the first period and then never looked back, finishing the game with a 7-0 victory to win the championship!
