NICO DAWS DEFEATS BUFFALO SABRES IN NHL DEBUT
Nico Daws started and won his first NHL game this weekend for the New Jersey Devils at home against the Buffalo Sabres, stopping 24 of 25 shots he faced.

After giving up the first goal of the game, Nico stopped every other shot that came his way and allowed his team to complete the comeback in overtime for the 2-1 victory, "We got off to an early deficit, and at that point my job was to just give the team a chance to win, try to stop every puck I have and help the team."

Daws made some huge stops including a Drake Caggiula breakaway in the second period and shots from the slot from Dylan Cozens and Arttu Ruostalainen, "Obviously nerves in the first couple minutes of the game, legs were a little bit shaky. That's to be expected, first NHL game, it was a big crowd. After I got a few shots and a couple saves, I really calmed down."
