The boys' Sunday morning kicked off with an early morning skate with the Minor PeeWee A club and ended with a late afternoon tilt against the 45's in Brampton. Stories of mid afternoon naps, extended Fortnite sessions and absolutely no homework abound in the dressing room. One player however, just didn't look to be himself and he was the guy that was slated to mind the pipes.
Hunter B, his Dad and the coaches had a brief pre-game meeting and it appeared as though three loose teeth and an upset stomach were going to prevent Hunter from playing. Jason quickly grabbed his warm-up ball, those inedible chocolate things and his Dad to get ready for an unscheduled start.
After some diagnosis by Trainer Hock, Hunter was prescribed a trip to the restroom, he opted not to use the one in the dressing room...an intelligent decision. Feeling refreshed, sharp and a little lighter, Hunter declared his readiness to play. Jason quickly filed back to back-up status offering Hunter some words of encouragement.
Hunter put on a show, stopping all Brampton shots en route to a well deserved shutout and 1-0 victory over the 45's.
Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes of peace to center, re-focus and enter 'the zone'.
