Our Captains were sporting 'new, jersey' bling.
Coach Colin gave the boys some hockey homework over the past week asking that they spend some time thinking about what it means to be a captain on a hockey team and to outline some of the attributes that make a good captain.
Coach was impressed with the responses the boys submitted, citing things like leadership, work ethic and a player's ability to be supportive on the bench. The boys also submitted votes for a captain and two assistants that fit those aforementioned attributes. Proudly, Lucas was named as our team's captain and Fattore and Perfect round out the Assistant roles. There is one more Assistant to be named (later) and will be a Coaches' choice.
Our convocation played on tilted ice last night as they took on the 45s in Brampton. There were no shortage of opportunities and once the boys were able to pluck 1 grapefruit, more fell. Balls made some nice saves demonstrating the movement drills Coach Jeremy has been working on at practise. Special mention to Cuba Carson for making some sick plays on the blue line to keep the 45s absolutely Ziploc'd in their zone.
