Eagles Minor Peewee AA Blue 2019/20 Mary Parkinson Memorial Finalists
This past weekend the Minor Peewee Blue made a very strong showing at the Mary Parkinson Memorial in Richmond Hill and learned that Intensity is not a Perfume!
In Game 1 vs Pickering, Blue decided to take a group nap for the first 5 minutes and paid the price on the wrong end of a 7-1 loss. After a huge lunch and pointed motivational talk from the coaching staff, Blue bounced back in games 2 and 3 with 8-1 and 5-2 wins over Sudbury and Markham Islanders. Game 4 was our first run in with the 3-0 Markham Waxers. Waxers had not been scored on yet in the tournament. The crowd held it’s breath as the lead changed multiple times and ended in a 3-3 tie. The Pickering semifinal rematch was almost too much to watch.. Blue stayed with them, and etched out a 3-2 win. Off to the finals for the Markham Waxers rematch. The Eagles score first, the crowd goes insane. It’s end to end playoff hockey for the next 30 mins., but a tough and fast Waxers team win 3-1. A great start to the season saw the Eagles put in 21 goals in 6 games proving that you can win games when you score, two hot goalies and some aggressively pinching D built the foundation. Great times at hotel were had by all, and budding friendships young and old made for a great Hockey weekend.
