BURLINGTON EAGLES PHOTO NIGHT AND THE 2019 GIFT OF GIVING BACK FOOD DRIVE November 5th and 6th
Did you know that more than half the visitors to our local food banks are children? No child should ever be hungry. “Kids Feeding Kids” - Charity # 80769 1126 RR0001 “The Gift of Giving Back is the largest outpouring of practical love towards the needy in our community….. ”  Major Jeff Johnston, Salvation Army

Attention:

All Coaches and Managers, and Eagle Families (including Junior Eagles) Team Photos & Gift of Giving Back – Please read carefully to avoid confusion. Team Pictures will be taken at Robert Bateman High School, 5151 New Street, Burlington, on November 5th and 6th and times are noted on your schedules.

Please arrive (at least) 45 minutes before your scheduled time as the food drive weigh-in will take place before pictures are taken. (Teams can drop off food at ANY time during our 2 evening collection up to 9:30 pm on Nov 6th but if you are bringing food with you on photo night, just please allow enough time – it will be busy.

Once again no skates required and  another change this year is that all photos will be individual photos taken with green screen and there will be no team photo taken and the team photo will be assembled from the individual photos. The samples of this process and quality of the pictures are second to none. If you have two or three players from the same family playing in the league they will all have individuals taken and there will be a package where you can have the same players all in one family picture.
Please make sure your team is ready and assembled 30 minutes before their scheduled time to avoid missing your photo time.

Food Drive will be the same two evenings.   Donations will be collected as our players arrive at the gymnasium doors.   PLEASE TRY TO LABEL YOUR FOOD (IF IN BOXES, WRITE THE NAME OF THE TEAM ON THE BOX.   IF IN BLUE BAGS, REMOVABLE TAGS ON THE HANDLES.  IF YOU HAVE TIME, PLEASE PACK THE FOOD IN BOXES AND STACK THE BLUE BAGS FOR RECYCLING NEXT YEAR.  (Enthusiastic volunteers and signage will be there to guide and assist you to unload at the double doors near the gym.  There will also be helpers with dollies to assist you.

Due to safety and theft concerns (as seen with our partners the Burlington Gymnastics Club) We are trying to avoid handling cash donations – Could you please deposit cash donations in your own bank accounts and replace with a cheque.  Thanks

If you have a large donation, please contact us for instructions.

Parking and Traffic

PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY WHEN APPROACHING THE SCHOOL IN THE INTERESTS OF SAFETY. THERE WILL BE MANY EXCITED YOUNG CHILDREN WHO WILL BE COMING IN & OUT OF POOL ENTRANCE PERHAPS NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO ROAD HAZARDS

THERE WlLL BE VOLUNTEERS IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND IN THE LANEWAY DIRECTING TRAFFIC.  AT ALL TIMES, PLEASE OBEY THE TRAFFIC INSTRUCTIONS.

For food drop-off, please enter the parking lot using the most eastern driveway of Robert Bateman School.  (In front of Centennial Pool).

Also please note that the pool will be in use and therefore the parking lot in the back will be used for pool parking.  The parking lot in front of the pool will be used for food drop-off.

Please follow instructions of the traffic coordinators to ensure safety and proper traffic flow. A friendly wave and a big smile would be welcomed by these hardworking volunteers – especially if it’s raining (which it always does).

FOOD DROP OFF

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS OF TRAFFIC CO-ORDINATORS and proceed to the second pool entrance.

Food drop off will be at Doors  6 and 7 at the  front of the gymnasium at Bateman High School.

After food drop-off cars will proceed to the main parking lot for the school, or at Ascension School next door.

PHOTOS

Just to reiterate – Coaches and Managers are expected to be in full control of team behaviour at all times during the photo shoot.  Please be respectful of Robert Bateman High School - our amazing host school, and all property.  Please,  do not allow rough play on the bleachers or in the food bins.  Safety is important and our kids are precious.

Please ensure there is no pushing, shoving, etc. – in the past bystanders havebeen hit by sticks, so please keep your players under control.  Also, please make sure that your players show courtesy to the volunteers who are checking them in. A good idea here would be to assign a couple of your staff or parents to ensure it all goes smoothly.  Please remember that we are guests of the generous staff and students of Robert Bateman HS.

ATTIRE:  Players are to wear their GOLD home jersey with a white mock neck or t-shirt underneath – no helmets.  Please come already dressed if possible.

**PLEASE NOTE - with our new format this year - SKATES ARE NOT TO BE WORN for photos- if you choose to take the optional “locker room portrait” and would like your skates included, please have skates ready after regular team/individual pictures are taken

Coaches and team staff should be in Eagles’ DRESS attire:  white dress shirt, Eagles’ tie and eagles’ jacket. NO JEANS PLEASE!!!  Note that only trainers may wear tracksuits for photos. All other bench staff are expected to wear their dress shirts and ties, dress pants and shoes as per the Eagles dress code.  We will have additional ties at photo night for use that evening for those who do not have or forget a tie.

We are looking forward to a hugely successful Gift of Giving Back!  Unending thanks to all our hardworking teams.  Together, we are doing amazing things for our community and especially our youth!!

Thank you all and look forward to seeing everyone there !!
