Sean Carey is
the father of Dylan Carey who plays goal for our team. We are reaching out to
all of our hockey families to help a family in need at this difficult time.

Sean Carey is a proud and dedicated father to his two teens - Dylan (15) and Alina (13). Six years ago, his wife Kate lost a hard fought battle to cancer. This was a tragic loss for Sean and his 2 young children , then only 9 and 7. Sadly, this past September, Sean was diagnosed with AML - Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It is devastating that Cancer has invaded this family a 2nd time. Sean spent 27 days at Princess Margaret Hospital for his chemo treatments. He has been continuing his treatments as an outpatient and has been unable to work. It has been challenging to cover all costs as not all prescriptions are covered by health care. In addition, as a single father and trying to provide for 2 teenagers in the midst of this difficult and trying time, we are reaching out to friends in the community to help Sean and his family. Every little bit would help as it is undetermined when he will be able to return to work. He is a devoted father and as ill as he is, he still finds a way to make it to the rink to watch his son play.
