A Classic Battle of Burlington in Buffalo
Our Eagles saved their best game of the tournament for Sunday afternoon when they took on the Burlington Bulldogs in the Championship round of the Gene Harrington Shootout Classic.
After an uninspired Friday performance on the outdoor stage and a cob-web filled Saturday morning tilt, the boys headed into Sunday's semi-final against a tenacious Burford Coyotes squad. The Coyotes refused to stop nipping, but the boys were able to hold the board to 4-3 as time melted away. This meant an afternoon Championship game and tournament rematch versus the Burlington Bulldogs.
Wreck-it Ralph won't go down with Rudy or Rocky in the inspiring movies category, but it worked for some of our Eagles who took it in before the afternoon Championship match up. The boys were able to channel Ralph and put on an internet breaking performance in the final.
Back-stopped by Hunter and led by a natural hatty from JG, the boys took a 3-0 lead in the final. The Dogs were able to sneak one in, but our convent was able to mount consistent pressure in our opponent's end. Even with unique US rules, the zebras called a fair game, the Dogs could not fend an incessant Eagles attack. The little guys (65,88,15) hit the ice to cap the game with a
