If Winter is coming...
...it arrived at Nelson about a week ago.
In case we have to play any outdoor games in Siberia, the boys will be ready after an early morning skate at Nelson or better yet, Nels-antica.
Practice kicked off with a few drills to bring the boys back to the basics. A round of shuttle passes, followed by the 'circle drill' and later, some battle drills designed to get the boys using their bodies to maintain puck possession.
The boys were also introduced to a 'Team Canada' drill that once rolling is meant to be a fluid flow of skating, passing and offensive finesse. They picked up on it quick and executed a number of flawless repetitions.
McBay and Beaulieu commented on how warm they were...a direct result of the myriad of rubber they saw during the 90 minute affair. Nothing keeps the toes toasty like a series of three-on-none and breakaway challenge drills.
