The Eagles were in Elmira to face
off against the Woolwich Wildcats for their second playoff game. The Eagles
uncharacteristically found themselves in the penalty box early and often.
Despite killing off most of the penalties the Eagles lost 5-2 in a much closer
game then what the score suggests.
With a man in the box early in the first Tyler opened the scoring with a short handed goal. The Wildcats would reel off 3 quick goals to take a 3-1 lead. Tyler would score again to get the Eagles within one goal before the end of the first period. With 5 goals scored on 8 shots combined it looked like we were in for a high scoring affair, but the score remained 3-2 at the end of the second period. The Wildcats squeaked a goal in late in the third and sealed the deal with a empty net goal to win 5-2. The Eagles are back at it tomorrow against the Caledon Hawks in what is now a must win game if they want a chance to move on in the OMHA play downs.
