Given the dynamics of the Midget AAA tryout process, we are having
tryouts for all interested Midget AAA players at the end of the summer
starting on or about August 22nd (the exact times are still TBD and will be posted on the Burlington Eagles website as soon as they are finalized).
We are very proud to have quickly built a strong program of off-ice and on-ice development and advancement with our Eagles Midget AAA program.
On the ice, in addition to our game, tournament, and practice package, we have relationships with all the Tier II junior teams in the surrounding area, and they do AP our players (i.e. open invites to practices; and a majority of last season’s team were also called up to AP in games). As a result, we expect to graduate at least two players directly to the OHL next season (one player already joined his OHL team after the Midget AAA season ended), and at least 12 other players have received direct personal recruitment calls from various Junior Tier II teams with all 17 of our players having been invited to attend at least six junior Tier II spring camps.
Off the ice, among other things, we took advantage of the opportunity as a team to participate in the immensely successful Gift of Giving back Food Drive, volunteer with the CIBC Run for the Cure, act as waiters for the Tansley Woods Retirement Village Christmas dinner, and go on a visit to our Member of Parliament in Ottawa.
Next season, we are once again putting together a very good program for our Midget AAA team, and we expect to have many roster spots available on our team, since as per above, a large number of this season’s players are likely to advance to the next level. Our program includes, among other things, our own full-time dressing room in Central Arena, a team trip to a tournament in Kelowna BC, AP opportunities for our players with the surrounding junior teams, and our entire very experienced staff is returning.
