Minor Bantam A - Richard Bell Champs
Submitted By Tammy Peters on Wednesday, January 03, 2018
The Christmas break was very good to the Minor Bantam A Eagles.  The Oakville Richard Bell tournament posed a big challenge with 10 competitive teams including 3 from Finland.  Going undefeated in the prelim's, and winning their semi final match up, the Eagles faced their bitter rivals Oakville Red in the final.  With 50 loud and boisterous Finish boys all cheering for Oakville (they boarded with them throughout the wk)

the Eagles faced a 2-1 deficit entering the final frame with all the momentum on the Oakville side. Like they did all tournament long,  the Eagles showed the necessary "will to win" by forcing OT with an Ethan Peters goal with 5 min left to play.  3 on 3 OT proved nothing and then the heroics happened when it went to 2 on 2.  First and unbelievable breakaway save by Sam Logue, followed by the Championship winning goal by Luke Stark.  After coming so close at Silverstick a month earlier, this one felt extra special for the entire team.  Let the playoffs begin..
