Halton Power Edge Pro Atom AAA CCM World Invite Champions!
The Halton PEP Atom AAA Burlington Eagles won seven straight games to take the Championship at the 2017 CCM World Invite AAA Tournament in Chicago! Forty of the top teams in the USA came to Chicago to battle for the honor of taking home Gold. The Eagles faced opponents from Arizona, Missouri, Michigan, Illinois & Ontario.
After going 4 – 0 in round robin, the Eagles advanced to Sunday play. A challenging quarter final 2 – 0 win against the hometown team Falcons advanced them to the semis. A feisty Chatham-Kent team then went down 2 – 0 to the Eagles. Off to the finals!
Nicholas Kiss turned in a hat trick with Sam Mudie, Blake Jankovich, Michael McBay and Ben Austin each scoring twice in the final to give the Eagles the victory over the Affton Americans. Strong Eagles goaltending by Madden Lockwood and Ivan Kastelan, who locked down 2 shutouts each, earned them joint tournament MVP honours.
