FOUR EAGLES PLAYERS SELECTED IN 2022 OHL PRIORITY SELECTIONS
The Burlington Eagles would like to extend our congratulations to the four players who recently selected in the OHL Under-16 and Under 18 Priority Selections. Two players were taken in the U16 Priority Selection and two more were drafted in the U18 Priority Selection.

Hudson Gill was drafted by the Guelph Storm in the 7th round with the 135th overall pick in the Under-16 Priority Selection. Hudson started his career with the Eagles with Tyke hockey, before playing AAA for four seasons. After playing in Toronto for three years, Hudson returned to the Eagles for 2021-22, while also being an affiliate player with the U18 AAA team, the Burlington Cougars, and the Hamilton Kilty B’s.

Mackenzie Curd was drafted by the Erie Otters in the 13th round with the 247th overall pick in the Under-16 Priority Selection. Mackenzie also started his career with the Eagles in Tyke hockey, however 2021-22 was his first season playing AAA after being with the Eagles for six years. Coming in at 6’6 and over 200 lbs, Mackenzie’s presence was felt on the blueline for the Eagles this year helping them reach the OMHA Championship weekend.

In the Under-18 Priority Selection, Vlad Visan was selected by the Erie Otters with the 2nd overall selection. A goalie, Vlad has played with the Eagles his entire minor hockey career, working his way up from the U11 A team to AAA by Under-13, and staying there every year since. This year, Vlad was an affiliate player with the Burlington Cougars and the Fort Erie Meteors, and helped the U18 AAA Eagles reach the OMHA Championships.

With the 10th overall pick in the U18 Priority Selection, the Barrie Colts selected Eagles defenseman Graeme MacAuley. Growing up in Milton and playing for the Winterhawks and Halton Hurricanes, Graeme came to the U18 AAA Eagles this season. He was also an affiliate player for the Burlington Cougars, along with the Pelham Panthers, and played in two games for the Cougars where he also scored a goal in his second game against the Milton Menace.

Congratulations again to our Eagles players and good luck with the rest of your hockey careers moving forward! We will be watching proudly.
