Another tournament championship for
the Power Edge Pro Minor Atom AA team at the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament!
With their only loss in the round robin having been against league rival Niagara Falls, the Eagles knew there was a good chance that they would meet the 5-0 Flyers again in the championship game. Lucky socks, salmon sweaters, pregame meals and routines were all in effect along with some very hard work from the team for the big game. Scoreless until the 3rd, the Eagles racked up two goals in the first couple of minutes, and worked hard to finish the game with a score of 2-0, marking the first time the Flyers have been shut out this season!
An added bonus came from knowing that Coach Phil would have to bring shutout donuts to practice … again. Thanks to all of the players and their families for an exciting few days of hockey, and a special shout out to Maddie and Cole from the Minor Atom A team, who rallied after their loss in their final to lend us their legs and help us win GOLD!
