Burlington TD Bank's Minor Bantam AA-Blue Eagles Come Out Victorious In Humberview Huskies Tournament!
There was
no shortage of drama over the weekend as the Minor Bantam AA Blue team played
in the Humberview Huskies Tournament. With each game the play became more
intense as the boys made their way toward the exciting final on Sunday
afternoon.
All of the boys fought hard all weekend, and earned their spot in the final game. There was no question the boys wanted to win. Throughout the tournament both Ben DiGiallonardo and Max Wilson were outstanding in the crease, but on Saturday afternoon it was Wilson who frustrated the Ottawa Aces. A very hard fought game on Saturday against the Aces almost ended in a 0-0 tie. 'With just a few seconds left, however, Cyris Boss managed to score a fantastic goal on a pass from Owen Convey, to take the breathtaking win. The drama was far from over. A tie in the early-morning semi-final game against the tough Cambridge Hawks secured the Eagles a spot in the finals, against none other than the Cambridge Hawks once more. As the Eagles battled in the championship game, again the score was tied 2-2 as the third period marched along. But with 1.9 seconds left on the clock the Eagles' Sean Moreira took a fabulous pass from Jake Proulx, and scored the winning goal. It doesn't get much better than that! Congratulations to all of the boys, each of whom showed what patience, team work, and discipline can achieve.
